One of tennis’ most dominant champions, Serena Williams, has continued to provide design insights for Nike through the Serena Williams Design Crew, launching redesigned versions of various silhouettes in the Nike archives. Following Willams’ take on the Air Max 1 and Victory Tech, Serena will tackle the iconic Air Force 1 Low.
Plastic TPU paneling defines Serena’s version of the AF1 Low, with the mudguard, eyestay, and heel overlay taking on this material. Here, the sneaker has a frosted gradient with blue hues appearing on the trim of each panel and pale blue, almost white colors in the center. Another instance of plastic on the upper comes via the 3D Swoosh, which takes on a clear finish and runs back to the blue leather heel tab containing the Serena Williams logo.
Along the woven tongue, we see a set of bright green rope laces resting below the 305-branded tongue, which could be a nod to the city of Miami or have a more personal connection to Williams. Moving to the sockliner and insole, we see a wave-like topographical print that gives way to a floral logo in a deep blue on the insole. Underfoot sits the classic Air Force 1 midsole, featuring a similar gradient pattern with a glacier blue shade that transitions to a solid white and a pop of volt green on the edge of the sole and upper. Finishing the design is the light blue rubber outsole.
The SWDC x Nike Air Force 1 Low Psychic Blue W was released on February 11, 2025, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in women’s sizing, the retail price is $115.
