Deion Sanders launched his first signature sneaker with Nike in 1993, but like all sneakers, multiple samples and prototypes eventually led to the design we all know today. Until now, these have remained behind closed doors as Nike plans to launch a new version of Deion’s Diamond Turf sneaker—the Nike Air DT Protro ‘92.
Seen here in a semi-similar color to the original 49ers rendition, which recently retroed at the start of the year, the model only changes a few details, but they’re quite noticeable. Instead of reserving the Swoosh logo for the lockdown strap, Nike originally had planned to throw the logo on the lateral midfoot (similar to the upcoming LeBron 21 Prime 93), partially covering the semi-translucent mesh panel. Nike text is on the strap now, but besides this and the Primetime tongue logo, things remain the same as the released version.

As for its color palette, we see a white coat on most of the sneaker, taking over the smooth leather toebox, mudguard, midfoot, lockdown strap, collar, and heel. Pops of black are found on the neoprene along the tongue, the Swoosh and Nike text on the upper, and the pull tab. Finishing the sneaker is the white and black foam midsole paired with a black and white rubber outsole.
The Nike Air DT Proto ‘92 49ers White will release in Summer 2025 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $150.
