2024 marked the return of the Nike Air Zoom Spiridon, the performance running model from 1997 with a cult following and inspired the design of Travis Scott’s first signature sneaker with Nike, the Nike Zoom Field Jaxx. After the OG launched alongside the two fragment design collaborations, we’ve gotten two other OGs under the Nike Cult Classic Collection and have word that the Deep Royal Blue Yellow Strike and Concord renditions will return in 2025. Alongside these pairs is a new version of the original Sport Red colorway.
Nike retains the colorblocking and color scheme from the OG rendition of the Spiridon. However, the material makeup alters the look of the sneaker. The heavy-duty canvas used on the black mudguard running the length of the entire upper is replaced with synthetic nylon, giving it a smoother appearance, while the red mini Swoosh on the toe cap is now stamped on instead of embroidered.

Moving up, the Swoosh still comes outlined in black textiles, but the red logo is now rendered in a synthetic textile instead of the metallic red found on the OG. The base layer also undergoes a material change as instead of the grey netted mesh, a semi-translucent clear ripstop coats the upper. Nylon lace loops with 3M details keep the white lace set in place, resting atop the tongue that also gets a ripstop construction. Finishing the design is the white foam midsole and the semi-translucent black rubber outsole, a change from the solid black found in the original design.
The Nike Air Zoom Spiridon Metallic Silver Sport Red will release in Summer 2025 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $120, a $40 decrease from other Spiridon colorways. This could be a Nike error, but we’ll have to wait and see.
