Although Reebok has been out of the performance basketball space for over a decade, the brand plans to reenter the sphere it once dominated. Plans for this return began when Shaq and Allen Iverson were named president and vice president of Reebok Basketball at the end of 2023. Now, after revealing the brand’s first new performance basketball, the Reebok Engine A, back in August, the pair is officially set to drop for NBA All-Star Weekend.
Already spotted on the feet of WNBA All-Star Angel Reese, the Engine A builds on Reebok’s strong foundation of retro performance models by blending modern innovation with the brand’s signature bold design language, specifically inspired by the brand’s Mobius line from the ‘90s.Designed to support today’s fast-paced, multi-directional game, the model features a lightweight molded exoskeleton upper, which enhances breathability and locks the foot in place while allowing for bold colorblocking.

Reebok’s Energy Return System (ERS) technology is placed within the midsole for explosive movement and responsiveness. Packed within the sole is Nitrogen-infused SuperFloat foam, delivering elite energy return and impact absorption for maximum comfort and bounce. Stability is a priority, with a high-abrasion rubber outsole featuring a herringbone traction pattern to provide superior grip and control on the court.
“The launch of the Reebok Engine A is a monumental moment for the brand as we reclaim our stance on the court and within basketball culture, says Todd Krinsky, Reebok CEO. “The Engine A embodies all the Reebok stands for: top performance innovation, fearless risk-taking design and a continued commitment to deliver the best product possible to the athletes who are changing the game.”
The Reebok Engine A Metallic Silver will release on February 13, 2025, through Reebok and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $120.
