You’d assume that since De’Aaron Fox was only recently traded from the Sacramento Kings to the San Antonio Spurs, it would take some time before his signature sneaker with Under Armour, the Under Armour Curry Fox 1, would appear in a makeup for his new squad. However, the Fox 1’s newest colorway, Gamer, is almost a perfect pair for the Spurs.
The design is directly inspired by Fox’s love of video games, which is well-documented as he used to be very active in the online gaming community, making videos about Call of Duty, Fortnite, Dragon Ball FighterZ, and more. On the upper, we see an engineered mesh base in black with suede reinforcements in a tonal black finish found on the mudguard, vamp, and collar. An iridescent pearl-like hue is applied to the forefoot strap, which contains a clever nod to De’Aaron’s last name with its fox-tail-inspired detail on the end of the strap.

More accenting hues are found on the lace set and toe cap, both featuring pink shades, while the Fox-branded tongue tag also dips its toes into the iridescent pearl finish. This same hue is also applied to the TPU heel counter, which contains Curry branding on the lateral side and De’Aaron’s signature on the medial. Finishing the sneaker is the UA Flow midsole in grey and black paired with a black UA Flow outsole.
The Under Armour Curry Fox 1 Gamer will release on April 1, 2025, through Under Armour and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $120.
