Jordan Brand has found a key collaborator with James Whitner’s “The Whitaker Group,” more specifically with the brand's higher-end retail location A Ma Maniere. So far, their work has taken over various retro releases like the AJ 1-4 with the AJ 12 in “Black Burgundy” and “White Burgundy,” however, the work with Jordan Brand is continuing onto the Air Ship. While we did see the duo work on an ultra-limited pair last year, Holiday 2023 will see A Ma Maniere once again tackle the oft-forgotten predecessor with the Jordan Air Ship “Summit White Black.”
Keeping things simple like all Air Ships, the silhouette maintains its mostly all-white leather build with the OG details you’d find on pairs from the 80. Tonal stitching helps create depth to the upper and features similar panels to the AJ 1 with perforated leather on the toebox and Nike Air branding atop the tongue, the latter of which comes in black. Our final hit of black on the upper lands on the leather collar with more Nike Air branding featured in white. Just like the previous A Ma Maniere Air Ship, this pair features the brand's name attached to the tongue tag. All of this sits atop an aged rubber midsole and black outsole.
The A Ma Maniere x Jordan Air Ship Summit White Black was released on August 3, 2023 exclusively through The Whitaker Group storefronts, including Social Status, APB, and of course A Ma Maniere. The pair will restock on October 21, 2023 via these same retailers. Following this, official images emerged from Nike, indicating we may see another release via Nike SNKRS. Releasing in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $140.
