Australian boutique Above The Clouds has once again partnered with Asics, following their initial collaboration that captivated sneakerheads last October. This partnership, recently marked by the Cream Shamrock Green iteration of the GT-2160, propelled Above The Clouds into the forefront of collaborators in the sneaker world. Now, with anticipation building since their last release, Above The Clouds unveils another Asics GT-2160 colorway.
This latest iteration, coming in Metallic Silver Brown, showcases an inventive mix of materials and colors. The design retains the distinctive construction of its predecessor, notably the substitution of traditional mesh panels with semi-translucent TPU. A sophisticated combination of metallic silver and brown, with strategic pops of red, providing a vibrant contrast.
Metallic silver dominates the overlays across the vamp and the iconic Asics tiger stripes, while red accents enliven the GT-2160 and Asics branding. Complementing this are wide-space mesh panels in silver on the collar and heel, enhancing both the visual appeal and comfort of the sneaker. Down below sits a cream-colored Gel cushioning system, highlighted with red accents on the heel. A tonal outsole completes the design.
The Above The Clouds x Asics GT-2160 Metallic Silver Brown will release July 19, 2024, through Above The Clouds. A global release via Asics and select retailers online and in-store will take place on July 27. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
