Controversial to say the least, the adidas Adilette 22 had its moment in the sun last summer thanks to the drama it caused with Ye and his Yeezy label, however, the silhouette has since been seen as a flop on the market with it sitting on shelves across various retailers. Even still, adidas is banking on this topographical-inspired slide to fill the void left in the market of slip-on sneakers. Seemingly ready for Valentine’s Day 2023, the adidas Adilette 22 has just appeared in “Preloved Red.”
Constructed out of a one-piece EVA foam composite that is partially derived from sugarcane, the silhouette keeps its monochromatic design throughout as the various craters and aggressive lines all come covered in “Preloved Red.” Branding details for adidas can be spotted on the footbed with a Trefoil logo and if looked at close enough the forefoot strap seems to contain a semi-hidden Three Stripes design as three ridges are raised in a similar pattern. Finally, the text “The Brand With The Three Stripes” is plastered along the sidewall near the heel while the design of the slide is completed via a foam outsole featuring the same circular details found on a standard Adilette slide.
The adidas Adilette 22 Preloved Red is set to release in February 2023 through adidas and select Three Stripes retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $55.
