First released back in the 90s and revived from the vault this year, the adidas Adimatic had gained a cult following in Japan and with skaters worldwide before the sneaker was discontinued. With a handful of OG colorways alongside some new takes releasing back in March, the model had triumphantly returned, though it wouldn’t take long for collaborations to appear. Human Made brought its touch to three colorways and Jamal Smith got his own colorway, though now, as a part of a larger Holiday 2022 lineup, atmos is joining in on the action.
Taking a look at the atmos pair, the boutique adds earth tones to the humble skating shoe, coming covered in a golden tan dubbed “Mesa” that takes over the suede upper. Enlarged Three Stripes on the midfoot get a black makeover and also act as the eyestays that host a set of large flat laces in a tonal mesa shade. Further branding details land on the tongue with the adidas mountain logo attached to the tongue tag and embroidered back on the heel. atmos themselves make an appearance on the co-branded insole that features a graphic of various adidas boxes in a natural cardboard shade. Rounding out the look is the cream white midsole paired with a black rubber outsole.
For the non-collab pairs in this variety of offerings, classic tri-tone color schemes are present with "Red," "Black," "Grey," and "Navy" acting as the primary shade for each respective colorway. The same branding details seen on the collaborative pair are present, sans the co-branded insoles, while the color choices of the laces and Three Stripes contrast the main shade seen on the eclectic mix of options. Underfoot, the midsole and outsole combo complement the secondary shades, matching the lace option seen on each colorway except for the red pair that has a black-on-black sole unit.
The entire adidas Adimatic Holiday 2022 lineup is set to release this Holiday season, though the atmos collaboration is set to release in September exclusively in Japan. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $80 for non-collab pairs.
