In the dynamic world of performance basketball sneakers, the adidas AE 1 has carved out its space, much like its namesake, Anthony Edwards, has on the court. Edwards' partnership with adidas has captured attention through innovative design and a marketing campaign that harks back to the golden era of basketball advertisements. On the heels of the New Wave colorway hitting shelves and the anticipation building around the Metallic Burgundy, White Lime, and Coral, adidas is now gearing up to drop the AE 1 Ascent later this year.
The upcoming adidas AE 1 Ascent continues the model's tradition of combining style with performance. A mesmerizing marbled grey pattern on the TPU side cage accentuates the sneaker's sleek profile and draws comparisons. Across the upper, we see construction with environmentally conscious Primeblue knit material, providing a sustainable yet comfortable fit. Additional stability is provided by a faux-carbon fiber heel counter adorned with an adidas logo. Underfoot, the MX Charcoal has a midsole that mirrors the upper's marbled aesthetic and comes with Jet Boost and Lightstrike cushioning. Rounding out the look is a color-matched outsole that ensures superior grip on the hardwood.
The adidas AE 1 Ascent will release on July 20, 2024, through adidas and select retailers online and in-store. Alongside this pair, adidas will release the first AE 1 Low, also Ascent-themed. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $120. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app for the latest scoop on releases, raffles, and all things sneakers.
