The demand for Kobe Bryant sneakers has skyrocketed in the last few years, unfortunately, due to the passing of the NBA legend. While the Black Mamba’s sneakers were in limbo for a few years, Nike and the Bryant estate formally returned to the partnership that has been ongoing since 2003. Prior to this, the Lakers legend was signed to adidas and released a handful of silhouettes that to this day still invoke the days when Kobe was rocking his number 8 jersey on the court. Now after the intended worldwide return of his first signature sneaker with adidas, the now-called Crazy 1, in the “Sunshine” colorway was recalled due to QC issues, we’re set to get a “Lakers Home” inspired colorway very soon.
Taking on the same Audi TT Roadster-inspired design, the entire foam upper comes dressed in stark white shades while purple and gold accents pop around the toe, heel, and sole unit. Working alongside the singular foam overlay, debossed Three Stripes land on the midfoot while the heel gets a plastic reinforcement in yellow and purple that features more adidas branding details. The collar and sockliner nearby continue the gold shades while the white-on-white tongue and lace set get an accenting purple hit via yet another adidas Three Stripes logo. Our final hit of color on the upper is featured on the purple rubber toecap while the entire design is rounded out by a white adiPRENE+ cushioned midsole and gold rubber outsole.
The adidas Crazy 1 Lakers Home is set to release on November 11th, 2022 through select retailers in the EU while a global release through adidas is still up in the air. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $140.
