While many of the most memorable sneakers connected to Kobe Bryant fall under the umbrella of The Swoosh, his signature line with adidas started his journey in the footwear world. From his rookie season in 1996 until 2003, we would see releases of sneakers like the EQT Elevation, KB8, and infamously the Audi TT Roadster-inspired KOBE (now dubbed the Crazy 1). The latter of these three silhouettes made a quiet return in overseas this year, but now those in the US have a shot at copping the polarizing model that is set to launch in a “Snake” colorway.
Like the “Stormtrooper” colorway, the silhouette takes on simple shades of black, white, and silver, though the most eye-catching detail is the faux snakeskin that wraps across the entire synthetically-made upper. This graphic continues onto the tongue where a set of split-colored laces, coming in half black and half white, runs up towards a black Three Stripes branded tongue tag. Along the midfoot, another hit of Three Stripes branding gets obfuscated by the all-over snakeskin print, coming debossed. While the sockliner gets a white makeover, all-black shades end up on the heel tab and insole with the latter of the two featuring our final hit of Three Stripes branding on the upper. Rounding out the entire design is the white foam midsole paired with a black rubber outsole that features a herringbone traction pattern.
The adidas Crazy 1 Snake is set to release on October 14th, 2022 through adidas and select retailers online and in-store. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
