Once Kobe Bryant entered the NBA after his senior year of high school, The Three Stripes picked up the rookie on a 6-year deal that included models such as the Crazy 97 EQT, which has appeared in an All-Star-themed colorway. Arguably the most polarizing model associated with Bryant, the adidas Crazy 1 looked like something out of Star Wars, fitting that its latest colorway is coming in a clean white and black makeup, nicknamed “Stormtrooper.”
Inspired by one of Kobe’s favorite cars, the Audi TT Roadster, the sneaker takes on a color scheme fitting of the Stormtrooper moniker, an all-white molded upper with black and grey accents throughout. The futuristic design still maintains standard construction with a set of black and white laces running up the split black/white tongue featuring adidas branding atop. The mesh sockliner keeps the dark themes with a matching insole housing a Three Stripes logo. Back on the heel, more Three Stripes make an appearance, debossed from the molded upper. Underfoot, the AdiPRENE+ midsole gets a majority white look with grey hits towards the center while the black rubber outsole finishes the colorway.
The adidas Crazy 1 Stormtrooper is slated to release in the EU on July 21st, 2022 through adidas and select retailers online and in-store while a wider release is set for December 2022. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is $140. For updates on future adidas releases and more in the sneaker and streetwear scene, keep it locked to our Twitter and the Sole Retriever mobile app.
