Damian Lillard is fresh off the debut of his new signature sneaker with adidas, the adidas Dame 9, with the sneaker being subject to a BAPE collab right out the gate. While we’ve already seen multiple inline colorways, including Purple Burst and Solar Red, a new themed rendition has appeared overseas. This time, the Dame 9 is getting a spooky makeover perfect for the upcoming Halloween season.
Jet black hues cover most of the sneaker, with the patent leather overlay wrapping around the profile shining amongst the pops of red. Dripping blood comes from the Three Stripes on the midfoot, while a mini Three Stripes logo is near the toe, Dame’s logo is atop the tongue, and the pull tab continues with this red theme. The internal bootie and tongue also come in black, matching the collar and heel sections. On the lateral collar, an acronym constructed with bone-like font spells out “YKW71I”, playing off the phrase “You Know What Time It Is.” Not only does this reference Dame’s phrase “Dame Time,” but the 71 in the acronym references the 71-point game Lillard had in the 2023-2024 NBA season. The midsole below comes in black with red bloody streaks and a rubber outsole.
The adidas Dame 9 Halloween will release overseas in China on September 30, 2024, through adidas online. Considering previous adidas Basketball Halloween sneakers, like last year’s Harden Vol. 7, remained exclusive to overseas markets, this Dame 9 will likely follow the same path.
