adidas and Damian Lillard are set to release the next colorway of his latest signature sneaker, the Dame 9. After successfully launching the much-anticipated silhouette in Solar Red, Purple Burst, and True Blue, the Oak Tree edition is next up. The shoe is enjoying the buzz surrounding the entire adidas Basketball division, coinciding with the start of the 2024-25 NBA season.
Much of that buzz has been generated by Anthony Edwards and his first signature offering with The Brand With The Three Stripes, the Anthony Edwards 1. Still, the foundations of the current success were laid by athletes like Lillard, who has been signed with adidas since 2014. Through his collaboration with the brand, Lillard has made significant efforts to give back to his community. One of his key initiatives has been providing opportunities for underserved youth, particularly in his hometown of Oakland, California. Lillard has worked with adidas to create basketball clinics, mentorship programs, and scholarship opportunities, aiming to inspire and uplift young athletes who face similar challenges he experienced growing up. These programs focus on athletic development and emphasize education and leadership skills, helping shape future leaders on and off the court.
The adidas Dame 9 Oak Tree edition comes in a silver pebble, legend ivy, and impact orange colorway. Silver Pebble covers most of the upper, with a lighter, breathable mesh in legend ivy, encasing the internal neoprene booty in core black. Lillard's signature D logo is prominently placed on the tongue in impact orange. Three Stripes branding along the midfoot is finished in core black and impact orange, with a small EQT logo near the toe area. Underfoot continues the silver pebble vibe with a rubber outsole for extra traction and grip.
The adidas Dame 9 Oak Tree is set to release on November 15, 2024, at adidas and select retailers in-store and online. Coming in men's sizing, retail is set at $120.
