adidas is bridging the gap between two seemingly unrelated worlds—skateboarding and golf—with the new Rolling Links capsule collection. While golf is often associated with tradition and formality, skateboarding is known for its freedom and anti-conformist attitude. With Rolling Links, adidas celebrates the unexpected similarities between the two cultures—both emphasize individuality, self-expression, and a strong sense of community. This connection inspired the collection's design, combining technical materials suited for the course with the effortless, casual skateboarding style.
The Rolling Links Collection features a variety of unisex apparel designed to offer both comfort and a relaxed yet athletic aesthetic. Key pieces include:
- A crewneck windshirt.
- Hoodies.
- V-neck vests.
- Short and long-sleeve polos.
- A mock neck short-sleeve shirt.
These tops are complemented by chinos and shorts, with subtle adidas three-stripe detailing along the hem. The collection's color palette draws from both sports, offering versatile white, grey, black, green, and blue hues.
“The golf fashion landscape today is getting influenced by numerous areas across sport, culture and fashion,” said Dylan Moore, creative director, adidas Golf. “Like golf, skateboarding is a sport where style is unassuming, individual and with a little bit of attitude. We saw an opportunity to bring some of that design direction from our skateboarding counterparts at the brand to create something truly unique for the course and continue to push golf fashion in a new way.”
The footwear offerings in the Rolling Links capsule also make a bold statement. The capsule includes two silhouettes designed to bring performance and style to the golf course: a chalk-white edition of the classic Superstar Golf with green and blue accents and the sleek, all-black MC Z-Traxion. adidas has added accessories like colored crew socks and caps, perfect for golfers looking to bring a touch of skate-inspired style to the greens.
The adidas Golf Rolling Links Collection will release on October 4, 2024, through adidas Confirmed, the adidas app, adidas.com, and select retailers online and in-store. For footwear, the pairs will retail for $180 (MC Z-Traxion) and $140 (Superstar Spikeless).
