With the NBA season only weeks from starting, we’ve been inundated with debuts of new signature sneakers and special colorways from across the league. adidas and James Harden are still focused on promoting the Harden Vol. 8, which recently was spotted in a collaborative colorway with J-Harden Wines. Still, they’ve been hard at work on the following model: The Harden Vol. 9. Sole Retriever previously posted images of the Harden Vol. 9 in the Cyber Metallic colorway, but now official images of the Harden Vol. 9 appear in Cloud White Core Black.
As has been the case with recent offerings from adidas Basketball, the Harden Vol. 9 leans into a futuristic, avant-garde design language. A mesh bootie acts as the base of the sneaker, with its lightweight and breathable construction offering an improved fit compared to the previous sneaker. This layer comes coated in a black shade, while the synthetic panel wraps around the entire upper in a white hue. Three Stripes are cleverly integrated into the midfoot, with three ventilation cutouts helping reduce the weight of the upper, provide breathability, and add comfort.
Pops of volt green near the vamp, on the insole, and below the rubber outsole provide a break from the two-tone white and black shades. On the heel, we see a faux carbon fiber plate similar to the one found on the AE 1, with Harden branding. The sole unit below features LIGHTBOOST and LIGHTSTRIKE cushioning, a full-length, y-shaped torsion plate, and a modified herringbone traction pattern with Three Stripes branding near the heel.
The adidas Harden Vol. 9 Cloud White Core Black will release in June 2025 through adidas and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $160.
