While many were hoping that Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens could put a stop to the Kansas City Chiefs, primarily because of the discourse surrounding Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift's relationship, Kansas City was able to dominate the game and reach the Super Bowl for the fourth time since 2019. Patrick Mahomes will be leading the Chiefs into Super Bowl LVIII, who sports adidas cleats when taking the field. Outside his cleats, Mahomes has a signature sneaker with adidas; the Mahomes Impact FLX Turf is now getting a second iteration just in time for the Super Bowl.
The adidas Mahomes 2 Impact FLX Turf brings a fresh perspective to the Mahomes footwear lineup. This new version introduces a slight alteration in design, featuring a higher cut while maintaining its mid-top silhouette. The sneaker is constructed with a durable mesh base, complemented by TPU and textile overlays for added support and style. Two distinct colorways are set to release: one in a sleek Grey finish with metallic silver and gold accents and another in a classic Black adorned with grey and silver metallic highlights.
The Grey version of the Mahomes 2 Impact FLX Turf is accentuated with golden embroidered details on the midfoot and vamp overlays, adding a touch of luxury and refinement. The golden theme continues on the heel counter and is elegantly integrated into the grey sole unit. Mahomes' logo, rendered in a striking gold hue, is prominently displayed on the tongue, making a bold statement.
In contrast, the Black colorway of the Mahomes 2 Impact FLX Turf takes inspiration from the strategic elements of football, featuring Xs, Os, and arrows that replicate typical football play calls. The black base is complemented by metallic silver on the tongue tag and select areas of the midsole, while the heel counter is finished in a contrasting grey.
While the specific technical features of the Mahomes 2 Impact FLX Turf are yet to be revealed, it is expected to include a Boost midsole, offering exceptional comfort and energy return, and a grippy outsole that can handle turf and grass.
The adidas Mahomes 2 Impact FLX Turf will release in February 2024 through adidas and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s and GS sizing, the retail price has not yet been revealed.
