adidas is set to release a duo of the Mundial Team in time for the fall evenings. adidas's success over the years with outdoor and indoor soccer shoes is extraordinary. One of the most beloved FG cleats of all time is the Copa Mundial. When adidas adapted them for indoor use, switching out studs for a rubber sole unit designed to perform on astroturf surfaces, the demand was apparent, and from surprising circles recently. The craze is catching on as the current trend sweeping the socials is to wear them as streetwear.
Initially designed for the field, these shoes have evolved into a hybrid style that can complement any outfit. From athleisure looks to casual jeans-and-hoodie combinations, cleats add a unique twist, merging sports heritage with modern fashion sensibilities. The influence of platforms like Instagram and TikTok has fueled this trend, with fashionistas showcasing how easily indoor soccer shoes can be integrated into day-to-day wear. As a result, indoor soccer cleats have become a functional choice and a statement piece in the evolving world of streetwear. With this in mind, the adidas design team has approached these with the mindset of everyday wearers, with simple color palettes and wearability at the forefront of the project.
Now presented in a mixture of premium leathers and suedes, the adidas Mundial Team arrives in hues of brown and off-white adorning one pair, with tones of magic beige and off-white caressing the other pair. The signature stitching around the toe area is prominent, with a foldover tongue featuring woven tongue tags. Debossed trefoil branding appears on the heels, with Mundial Team in gold foil parallel to the Three Stripes branding on the sides. Underfoot, off-white midsoles atop rubber outsoles are finished in shades of color, matching each pair's upper.
The adidas Mundial Team Pack will release on September 12, 2024, through adidas and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men's sizing, retail is set at $150. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app for updates on the latest from adidas and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
