adidas is slightly remodeling the Predator Mundial model with a two-shoe collection to close the year. First introduced with SS24 offerings, the silhouette combines features from the Copa Mundial and Predator soccer cleat, both iconic and beloved worldwide. The new design received a warm reception and has been a common sight throughout the year, including Swedish brand Sneakersnstuff presenting a collaborative effort.
The new adaption to the model sees the replacement of the Three Stripes branding along the midfoot, from the swooping stripes of the Predator to the more traditional straight stripes finished with serrated edges of the Copa Mundial. The rear of the shoe is also visibly changed, again in a more consistent manner with the Copa Mundial. The build and material blend are the same on these two new pairs, adorned in classic color palettes and reversed.
One pair has core black hues dominating the upper, contrasted by cloud white, while the other is the opposite, cloud white accented with core black. Smooth leather is utilized for the upper base, with nubuck overlays that feature intricate stitching wrapping around the toe area and extending to the vamp and eyestay. Overlays of leather are seen at the midfoot and again at the heel, and this heel panel has an upper mesh lining.
Mesh is also used for the tongue, constructed with an upper half of leather, a lower section of mesh, and lined with foam padding. A retro adidas Trefoil decal sits upon the tongue, and the heel tabs also feature Trefoil branding, with the linear adidas branding apparent upon the insoles. Underfoot, a TPU heel cup extends around the rear midsole, with the gum-colored rubber outsole providing extensive grip and traction.
The adidas Predator Mundial in Cloud White Core Black and Core Black Cloud White are set to release on December 6, 2024, via adidas and select retailers online and in-store.
