The adidas Tyshawn II is the second signature sneaker of the amazingly talented professional skateboarder Tyshawn Jones. After releasing his first shoe with adidas in 2019, Tyshawn has quietly continued to build his brand and legacy. The Tyshawn II, which debuted earlier this year, is a shoe that captures the essence of a skating sneaker but with a unique flair that heavily features retro-inspired detailing.
This classic look has been the design strategy of adidas Skateboarding in recent years, presenting collaborations with POP Trading Company, Blondey McCoy, and Fucking Awesome, which each infused vintage design aesthetics with modern-day wearability. Such has been the current trend; elements of nostalgia combined with hype, good-quality materials, and loud marketing have benefited the sport with increased awareness and popularity. While the German sportswear giant’s presence on the scene may not be as apparent as others, adidas is focused on improving its efforts in this area and continues to adapt to an ever-changing market.
The latest adidas Tyshawn II is presented in a clean cloud white, core black, and collegiate navy colorway. Cloud White leather covers the majority of the upper. Fabrics are utilized for the lining and tongue, joined by a perforated toebox to allow improved breathability, a necessity for hardcore skaters. Core Black hues are visible on the back heel tab and again on the Three Stripes branding on the sides, with reflective details applied to the edges. Minimal gold Trefoil branding appears atop the tongue and via Tyshawn on the sides. A Collegiate Navy heel cup caresses the rear of the shoe, while the cushioned midsole and outsole are finished in cloud white.
The adidas Tyshawn II White Black Navy is set to release on September 1, 2024, through adidas and select retailers in-store and online. Coming in men's sizing, retail is set at $100.
