First introduced to the world with the adidas Energy Boost in 2013, the cushioning technology took the world by storm throughout the mid 2010s with plenty of silhouettes from inline releases and collaborations. As time went on, the days of sold out BOOST products like the NMD or Ultra Boost are long gone, yet adidas still continues to innovate on its originally lifestyle intended model. The previous iterations dating back to 2019 have increasingly added more BOOST to the midsole, and 2023’s version is no different with the most BOOST seen on an adidas silhouette to date.
As seen in these early sample photos, the adidas Ultra Boost 2023 is taking the 2021 version and beefing up the BOOST. The sock-like upper shrinks down in size with a primeknit pattern reminiscent of earlier models. Fused overlays along the midfoot and above the Three Stripe branding act as the eyelets for the flat laces, sitting underneath the adidas branded tongue tag. Along the heel more fused overlays help the silhouette keep form, housing the Ultra Boost branding. As previously mentioned, underfoot is a massive exposed BOOST cushioned midsole that runs from heel to toe. Rounding out the look is a tractioned rubber outsole that wraps up on the heel.
The adidas Ultra Boost 2023 is expected to release at the tail end of 2022 and into 2023 through adidas and select adidas retailers online and in-store. Pricing has yet to be announced.
