The hype train for the adidas Ultraboost began around the time Ye signed with The Three Stripes, and would often be spotted not only in his own designs but a pair of Ultraboosts. Instant sellouts followed suit and would remain that way for the next two or so years, though since then, adidas has made multiple iterations that did not see the success the original pairs did. One of these pairs, the Ultraboost DNA 5.0, brings the silhouette back to its lifestyle roots and recently has emerged in a crisp “Cloud White” colorway.
Taking on the Primeknit upper the Ultraboost became famous for, the entire upper takes on a cloud white shade. Its knit pattern allows for the toe to remain stretchy and breathable while maintaining its shape through its padded collar and heel portions. Though laces are essentially an aesthetic choice, a white set runs through the plastic Three Stripes located on the midfoot, resting just below the adidas branding on the tongue tag. On the insole, a QR code and the text “END PLASTIC WASTE” is present, indicating the pair is made with 50% ocean Parley plastic, while the other half is made with recycled polyester. Rounding out the look is the white exposed Boost midsole paired with a black Continental rubber outsole with a pastel green colored Torsion bar in the center.
The adidas Ultraboost DNA 5.0 Cloud White is set to release on June 16th, 2022 through adidas and select Three Stripes retailers online and in-store. Coming in men's sizing, the retail price is set at $190. To stay updated on the latest from adidas and more, keep it locked to our Twitter and Mobile App for future releases.
