Taking it back to 2015, the Yeezy Boost 350 took the sneaker world by storm, selling out instantly and demanding an astronomical price on the aftermarket. After only four colorways released, Yeezy introduced us to the 350 V2, an updated version that has become arguably their most sought-after model. The hype certainly isn’t as high as it once was for the 350 V2, but the original 350 V1 has remained a grail sneaker for many.
Following the release of the "Turtledove" colorway in 2022, adidas originally planned to release the "Pirate Black" rendition at the end of 2022 or beginning of 2023. Now, alongside various Yeezy sneakers apart of the remaining inventory held by adidas post-split, the sneaker will finally hit shelves.
The original 350s contain the same DNA as the 350 V2 with its Primeknit upper and full-length Boost midsole underneath, though it has its own unique details. The Primeknit used is much thinner compared to what most are used to with the V2 as well as its pattern coming comprised of a two-tone black and dark grey design from heel to toe. Located on the medial side is a black suede patch with the adidas Trefoil logo and YZY embossed on the left and right pair respectively. Weaving in and out of the upper is a set of tonal black and grey rope laces. On the heel, the iconic black pull-tab with red center stitching is present. Internally, the 2023 rerelease will use the same construction as the 2016 pair, featuring updated padding on the heel compared to the 2015 release. All of this comes with a black-on-black rubber midsole and outsole combo.
The adidas Yeezy Boost 350 Pirate Black will release alongside a slew of Yeezy sneakers on May 31. Expect the drop to go down on either adidas Confirmed or adidas.com/yeezy. Releasing in men's sizing, the retail price is set at $230.
