Photographed almost exclusively in boots throughout 2022, Ye decidedly changed his fashion sense following the vibrant and wild looks of 2020 and mid-2021. Introducing us to Yeezy Boot models such as the NSTLD BT and Knit RNR BT, adidas Yeezy’s plan to dig into the archives, specifically boots, was set to continue prior to the ending of the partnership. Now, we have an official look at the first retro of the adidas Yeezy 950.
The Yeezy 950 merges together both a duck boot and combat boot with its chunky design covered in a heavy-duty ballistic mesh on the top half and reinforced through a rubber toe overlay that runs way back to the heel. Running up the center of the boot is a premium suede overlay that houses a set of weatherized rope laces, staying tonal between all 4 colorways previously released. Atop the tongue is another hit of suede, this time with adidas branding featured on the left and Yeezy on the right. Staying luxed out, the internal sockliner comes constructed out of leather, complimenting the foam insole with dual adidas and Yeezy branding, though the women’s version of this boot features a wedge heel above this insole. Underfoot, the elevated rubber midsole is paired with a heavy-duty rubber outsole with an outdoor-ready traction pattern.
The adidas Yeezy 950 Pirate Black is set to release on August 17, 2023 through adidas Confirmed and select Yeezy retailers online and in-store. Originally, the sneaker was set to come in two versions, men's and women's. It is unknown if this is still the plan and if there are other colorways ready for release. The boots originally retailed for $585, and according to Brandon1an on Twitter, the 2023 version will retail for $600.
