After the initial hesitation to the 700 model back in 2017, sneakerheads and the public alike found their love for the model as time progressed. The silhouette has received updates and countless colorways ranging from your usual earth tones to mixes of blue and orange. One color that seems to elude the silhouette and adidas Yeezy sneakers in general is red, being so famous due to the “Red October” Nike Air Yeezy 2. Now one of Yeezy brands most popular models, the original 700, is receiving a “Hi-Res Red” makeover.
Though not the all-red look many would have hoped for, the silhouette still provides a burst of red via the tongue, mesh siding, and leather overlay along the midfoot. The black suede overlays around the toe and 3M drips near the heel remain, while the toebox partakes in a mix of bordeaux, grey, and white on the suede toe cap. Along with the first use of red on the 700, the lacing system switches to an infinity style in the same bordeaux that appears on the toe. Sitting below the upper is the famous 700 midsole, this time coming in a muted red look with orange drips near the heel, and a splash of teal near the toe. The herringbone patterned outsole appears in a much brighter red, providing cutouts to the full-length Boost cushioning underfoot.
The adidas Yeezy Boost 700 Hi-Res Red is set to release on June 17, 2022, through adidas Confirmed, adidas.com/yeezy, Yeezy Supply, and select Yeezy retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is to be announced.
