With so much controversy surrounding the man formerly known as Kanye West, adidas recently announced that they were placing the partnership with his Yeezy brand “under review.” Even still, the two will “co-manage” releases going forward, and The Three Stripes is not letting off the gas pedal in October. With a slew of releases hitting the shelves, like the restock of the Yeezy 500 “Utility Black,” one of the most uncomfortable Yeezy sneakers (according to Ye himself), the adidas Yeezy Knit RNR, has just appeared in "Faded Indigo."
Strikingly similar to the Yeezy Day exclusive “Faded Azure,” this “Faded Indigo” colorway adds darker tones to the laceless one-piece silhouette. Covering the entire upper is a premium knit material, taking on a collage of earthy blues and greens throughout the bottom half. At the same time, the collar portion comes in a monochromatic shade of dark navy. Just around the heel of the collar sits text denoting the size of the shoe in black text, located next to the chenille-like stretchy knit. With the silhouette taking on a shape similar to the Foam RNNR, the lack of all-over foam led the design team to utilize a “midfoot tuck” that helps the upper hug the contours of your foot and creates an adaptable fit. For cushioning, a piece of EVA foam sits just above the gum rubber outsole featuring a herringbone traction pattern.
The adidas Yeezy Knit RNR Faded Indigo saw a surprise release in the EU on October 10th through the adidas app while a wider release through adidas, adidas.com/yeezy, Yeezy Supply, and select retailers is slated for October 14th, 2022. The adidas Confirmed app will drop them on October 18th. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $210.
