After adidas announced plans to release at least some of its remaining Yeezy inventory and donate a portion of the proceeds to charity, it appears the rollout may begin as soon as June.
Images circulating across social media show adidas landing pages for Indonesia and India with multiple Yeezy sneakers, some of which were set to release last year. The page is no longer accessible, although it did say the sneakers would be "available from June 1." Notable Yeezy insider colbyjking confirmed via Twitter that the screenshot is legitimate.
Earlier this week, screenshots also revealed adidas websites in Europe displaying the Yeezy 500 “Utility Black” and Yeezy 350 V2 “Zeba." This was likely an error, as the products were swiftly removed from the website.
After severing of ties with Ye due to his antisemitic remarks, adidas has faced a significant dilemma from both a PR and financial standpoint. Selling Yeezy sneakers means the company would still have to pay Ye his 15 percent royalty rate. On the other hand, the balance sheet looked grim without Yeezy sales, which generated up to $1 billion per year for the German sportswear giant. The Yeezy saga has led to adidas projecting for this year its first operating loss in over 30 years and facing a lawsuit from investors who allege the company wasn't forthcoming enough about the headaches Ye was causing.
While there's been no confirmation of a release timeline from adidas, Yeezy sneakers will likely go up for sale in the following months.
