Often collaborating with brands to bring innovative concepts to life, Vans’ partnership with Advisory Board Crystals (ABC) has been particularly noteworthy. This year, the Advisory Board Crystals x Vans Evdnt EXT Ulti collaboration made waves, proving that when these two entities join forces, the outcome is nothing short of compelling. Now, they’re back, but this time, it's the Sk8-Hi EXT that's getting the joint treatment.
This latest partnership sees the Sk8-Hi EXT in a split White Black colorway, creating an intriguing duality of aesthetics. The distinctiveness of the design is amplified by the sneakers' high-quality materials – suede, ripstop nylon, leather, and mesh. In a twist on convention, the left shoe adopts a black base complemented by white overlays, while the right takes on an opposite stance, with white taking the primary role. ABC's innovative chip is embedded in the tongue, allowing one to verify the sneaker's authenticity. As for the branding elements, the lace dubrae features ABC's stamp, while the inner side of the tongue tag joins in the branding celebration. Vans' iconic Jazz Stripe on the midfoot and the emblematic "Off The Wall" text in red on the sole remain as the foundational elements of the brand's identity. The vintage midsole with a gum rubber outsole encapsulates the sneaker's classic yet revamped look.
The Advisory Board Crystals x Vans Sk8-Hi EXT in Black White and Ecru will release in 2023 via Vans, Advisory Board Crystals, and select retailers, both online and in-store. Pricing details are yet to be announced.
