Afew And Asics Collaborate On A Gel-Lyte III For Charity
Published
Dating back several years, AFEW and Asics held a raffle for a one off colorway of the Asics Gel-Lyte III helping support a youth hospice in Germany. Now in 2022, the two brands are back again to support the Regenbogenland Children’s and Youth Hospice through the charity raffle for the AFEW x Asics Gel Lyte III “Beauty In Imperfection.”
Constructed out of premium leather and suede, the colorway draws inspiration from the Japanese Wabi-Sabi, the notion that beauty is in imperfection. This is conveyed through the shoes' wear-away overlays, revealing an entirely different look. Above this secondary layer, the upper is covered in tan perforated leather across the toe box and base with olive green, grey and dusty orange overlays accenting throughout.
Branded with AFEW hits along the rear of the sneaker, the heel features Asics and AFEW on the right and left respectively. Matched to a white midsole and salmon outsole, the colorway finishes its imperfect look. Not only does this one of one sneaker come with special packaging, it also will ship with a Japanese tea table designed by Herschel Heck.
The single pair of AFEW x Asics Gel Lyte III Beauty In Imperfection in a men's size 9 is currently being raffled off exclusively through afew-store.com with proceeds going towards a local children's hospital. Each ticket costs €5 to enter with unlimited entries allowed. The drawing will take place on Instagram Live on February 14th, 2022 as well as a reveal on their next collaboration.
