Few names have resonated consistently in sneaker collaborations as Aime Leon Dore (ALD) and New Balance. Teddy Santis, the visionary behind ALD, has not only helmed New Balance’s Made in USA line but continues to infuse his aesthetic into several successful collaborations with the brand through ALD. Santis's efforts have significantly contributed to the resurgence of New Balance's vintage models, making each release a sought-after event.
Following the successful re-introduction of the T500, the New Balance 1000, a gem from the 1999 archives recently revived with Joe Freshgoods, is set to receive the Aime Leon Dore treatment in a new Cream colorway. Alongside this ALD collab, the model is expected to hit shelves in multiple inline renditions, including Grey Cream, Green Grey, Black Multi-Color, and Tan Pink.
Aime Leon Dore’s take on the New Balance 1000 embraces a sophisticated cream palette that enhances its design—the upper blends beautifully textured mesh with tonal wavy leather overlays, creating a seamless and stylish look. The collaboration is marked with Aime branding on the toe and tongue, while the iconic New Balance N logo adorns the midfoot in a matching cream tone. Further branding includes New Balance 1000 logos elegantly placed on the heel and a co-branded New Balance and Aime Leon Dore logo on the insole. Grey hues accent along the eyestays and on the heel and toe portions, keeping the color palette minimal. The design is completed with a cream midsole and a matching rubber outsole.
The Aime Leon Dore x New Balance 1000 Cream will release June 5th, 2024, through Aime Leon Dore. A wider release via New Balance and select retailers online and in-store will take place on June 20, 2024.
