The factory across the pond in Flimby has been hard at work in recent months. They’ve pumped out a variety of collaborative efforts on famed New Balance models like the 1500 and the semi-new 991v2, including those with Kith, Salehe Bembury, and Dover Street Market, and just recently debuted the $250 walking shoe, the Allerdale. Add another collaborative rendition of the 991v2 to the list for 2025 as Jimmy Wang from Australian sneaker boutique Up There has inadvertently revealed that Korean brand thisisneverthat is working on the sneaker.
In a photo posted to Wang’s Instagram story, he revealed the stockroom of Up There, primarily showcasing Paraboot loafers. Still, at the top, we can see the packaging and heel of the upcoming thisisneverthat x New Balance 991v2 Made in UK. Of course, the Korean label keeps things simple here with a tonal grey finish across the sneaker, utilizing the typical suede and mesh build the 991v2 is known for. Aside from a small shot of the heel and a peek at the lower half of the midfoot and toe, we don’t have any other looks at the shoe, but expect to see thisisneverthat logos somewhere on the upper similar to the brand’s recent New Balance 1000 project.
The thisisneverthat x New Balance 991v2 Made in UK will release sometime in 2025 through thisisneverthat, New Balance, and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $250. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest releases, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
