Helping revive multiple silhouettes and significantly revitalizing New Balance, Aimé Leon Dore has remained a key partner for the Boston-based footwear brand. Since the partnership began back with the 997 in April of 2019, we’ve seen the duo bring forth a variety of collaborations on a series of different sneakers. The most popular would be on the 550 and 650, NBs archival 80s basketball silhouette. On top of the new colorways of the 550 headed our way, it seems another Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance 650 is in the works.
Coming in a “White Green Gum” colorway, the silhouette comes covered in tumbled leather across its upper, with mesh panels on the collar and tongue. Most of the model takes on a clean white hue, as seen on the toe, midfoot, and heel. Tonal white laces match the tongue, while the tongue tag features Aimé Leon Dore’s re-worked 650 branding in green. More green hues are found on the New Balance-branded leather overlay along the collar and portions of the sole unit on the heel. Further branding details follow suit with typical ALD x NB collabs as Teddy Santis’ label gets stamped on the heel in white while the midfoot features an “N” logo trimmed in green. Rounding out the design is the creamy rubber midsole paired with a gum rubber outsole.
The Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance 650 White Green Gum will release on June 15 through a raffle on Aimé Leon Dore's website. A release via New Balance's website will go down on June 23. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $165.
