At the end of last year, Jordan Brand unwrapped the Air Jordan 1 Elevate Low. Giving their low-top classic basketball model the chunky midsole treatment, sneakerheads were a little torn by this design but were quickly won over by it. Now, the Michael Jordan-helmed label is giving their signature high top silhouette the same makeover with the Air Jordan 1 Elevate High "Varsity Red."
Taking on a classic color combination, this AJ 1 bears a striking resemblance to the Air Jordan 1 High OG "Chenille" that released earlier this summer. Featuring a smooth all-leather construction, the base is painted in a crisp summit white hue, while varsity red paneling adorns the rest of the upper, including the Nike Swoosh that dives across the sides. While the extra thick coconut milk Air midsole is definitely made to turn heads, Jordan Brand has tried to make things a little more understated on the branding side of things, leaving the tongue blank and only stitching the outline of the winged basketball along the ankle flaps. To round things off, because the shoe is so elevated, a zip has been installed on the medial collar so you can slip in and out with ease.
The Air Jordan 1 Elevate High Varsity Red W is set to release in Holiday 2022. It will drop at Nike as well as at select Jordan Brand retailers worldwide, in-store and online. Coming in women's sizing, retail is set at $145.
