There has been no shortage of “Panda” colorways in the sneaker industry with the Nike Dunk Low being the sneaker that began this recent trend. Not only have we seen the Dunk take on this black/white combo in various renditions, but so too are sneakers from Jordan Brand is releasing one of the OG colorways from the AJ 1s 1985 lineup with the Air Jordan 1 High ‘85 “Black White” hitting shelves in February. On top of this sneakers return, the women’s exclusive Air Jordan 1 Elevate Low has been infected by the PANDAemic.
Coming covered in leather across its upper, the simple combo of black and white across the upper obviously draws comparisons to the “Panda” Dunk. Black leather wraps around the mudguard, eyestays, and heel overlays while the perforated toebox and smooth leather quarter panel come in a stark white hue. White-on-white takes over the laces and tongue with the laces reaching a blank tongue tag that normally would host “Nike Air” or Jumpman branding. Along the midfoot, the Swoosh branding comes in black and wraps back to the outline of the Wings logo on the heel tab. Underfoot sits the chunky platform midsole that keeps some AJ 1 DNA in white while the black rubber outsole below finishes the look.
The Air Jordan 1 Elevate Low Panda W is set to release in Fall 2023 through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. Coming in women’s sizing, the retail price is set at $135.
