As Jordan Brand dives into cultural celebrations, its design ethos continues to cross boundaries and connect with fans on a deeper level. With Hispanic Heritage Month getting underway, the brand has decided to contribute to the festivity under Nike’s Familia collection with a Air Jordan 1 High Zoom CMFT 2 that celebrates Día De Muertos
This iteration of the Air Jordan 1 High Zoom CMFT 2 perfectly encapsulates the spirit of Día De Los Muertos and features a darker color palette compared to the Nike Air Max 1 and Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 40 Familia. Drenched in an artful combination of black and silver, the sneaker showcases intricate floral patterns on the toebox and quarter panel. Adding to the character is the "worn-away" vibe evident in areas like the mudguard, eyestays, collar, and the Swoosh. As if drawing inspiration from the vivid costumes of the Dia De Los Muertos parade, the sneaker showcases purple hints on its black tongue. The gold embroidery on the lateral side adds a touch of luxury and is subtly integrated into the holiday theme. Underfoot sits a gradient midsole that beautifully transitions from black to white towards the rear, showcasing contrasting white stitches. It pairs harmoniously with a matching rubber outsole, which completes the look.
The Air Jordan 1 High Zoom CMFT 2 Día De Muertos will release overseas on October 1, 2023, through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. A US launch will take place via Nike SNKRS on October 21. Available in men's sizes, the retail price is set at $165.
