As we’ve seen in recent memory, Jordan Brand often gives the kids playful takes on iconic retro J’s, and the Air Jordan 1 is usually the canvas on which this occurs. Pairs like the AJ 1 Low “Stitch” or the mid-top “Multi-Color Elephant Print” bring unique details we often don’t see on pairs crafted for adults. Adding to its list of kids’ exclusive releases, the Air Jordan 1 Low SE is “Born To Fly.”
Colorblocking on this AJ 1 Low SE somewhat resembles the classic “Black Toe,” however, orange and red hits contrast the simple black/white combo of the toe and midfoot portions. Orange takes over the topmost eyestay and tongue lining while red accents land on the Jumpman and lace loop on the tongue. Further red hits are applied to the heel overlay, while the lateral Swoosh features the most unique detail on this colorway - a flame graphic. Looking at the medial side, the Swoosh retains its classic all-leather build in red, though a “Born To Fly” graphic anthropomorphic hand signs skating also adorn the midfoot panel. Rounding out the silhouette is the white AJ 1 midsole paired with a black rubber outsole.
The Air Jordan 1 Low SE Born To Fly GS will be released in 2023 through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. Coming exclusively in grade school sizing, the retail price is $95.
