The Air Jordan 1 has been a cultural icon since its debut in 1985, but in recent years, its once-unshakeable hype has declined, with pairs sitting on shelves and even landing in clearance sections. Despite this, Jordan Brand has plans for more Air Jordan 1 throughout the following year. Among the anticipated releases for 2025 are the UNC Reimagined, Varsity Red Black, and rumors of a Shattered Backboard return. Adding to this lineup is a new colorway, the Light Madder Root, which has recently surfaced thanks to House of Heat and Elden Monitors.
While official images have yet to be released, House of Heat’s mock-up suggests that the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Light Madder Root will feature a sophisticated blend of cream leather and earthy tones. The toebox and midfoot are expected to sport a clean cream leather base, providing a neutral backdrop for the more vibrant light madder root nubuck accents on the Swoosh and collar. Baroque Brown wraps around the mudguard, eyestays, and heel, adding depth and contrast to the design. The classic white lace set and tongue further elevate the shoe’s aesthetic, while a cream rubber midsole paired with a baroque brown outsole ties the look together.
The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Light Madder Root W is rumored to release in Fall 2025 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in women’s sizing, the retail price is set at $180.
