Jordan Brand continues to keep its NCAA program at the forefront of its marketing strategy, with schools consistently receiving exclusive colorways on various retro J’s. For the beginning of 2023, schools affiliated with the Jumpman have been blessed with an Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG that takes on the team’s color scheme and logo, so far seen from UNC, UCLA, Howard, Marquette, Oklahoma, and Georgetown. The latest addition to the roster is the Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG Michigan PE, gifted to Wolverines players and staff.
Like the schools mentioned and their Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG PE, Michigan’s pair features cracked leather overlays with smooth leather on the toebox and quarter panel. Vibrant yellows cover the overlays and branding details with navy hits on the Swoosh, Nike Air tag, and collar lining. The mini embroidered Swoosh on the toe and textured leather Swoosh add subtle accents. The sockliner comes quilted and features more yellow hits, while the insole below comes in navy with Michigan's "M" logo. The shoe sits atop a sail midsole and gum rubber outsole.
