While everyone is still awaiting a proper retro of the “Taxi” colorway, Jordan Brand has been teasing us with pairs close to it since the last iteration was released in 2013. A Chinese New Year-themed pair dropped in 2017 with a full 3M reflective upper, and then the “Royalty” pair with metallic gold accents in 2021. Now, the colorway is back in low-top form for the first time since 2011, but this pair is slightly different.
In celebration of 25 Years Of Jordan In China, this Air Jordan 12 Retro Low GC comes in an OG-themed white, black, taxi, and varsity red colorway. Identical to the AJ 12 “Taxi,” they feature a white-based leather upper with black accents. Separating this pair from the OG is the lack of red and taxi hits, replaced by black and metallic silver, respectively. The mudguard features a multi-color iridescent design printed on. More custom hits are seen on the back heel, with “Celebrating 25 Years Of Jordan In China” on the right label, and the Jumpman with the number “25” underneath it on the insoles. A black solid rubber outsole with iridescent hits underneath completes the look. Each pair comes in special packaging as well.
The Air Jordan 12 Retro Low Greater China is set to release on August 4th, 2022. It will drop at Nike, via the SNKRS app, as well as select Jordan Brand retailers worldwide, both in-store and online. Coming in men’s sizing, retail is set at $200. Check out our Jordan release calendar, and keep it locked to our Twitter andMobile App to stay up to date on future releases.
