Will Smith’s iconic character from The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air was a style icon during the show's initial run with the fictionalized version of Smith often rocking a laceless pair of AJ 5s. So much so was the sneaker connected to Will Smith that Jordan Brand created the “Bel-Air” colorway of the model to commemorate his vibrant style choices on the show, however, in 2018, the “Grape” colorway of the same silhouette was created in laceless form to honor his 50th birthday. Now, well past the show’s ending, the second season of Bel-Air, a spin-off based on the original show, is set to premiere and Jordan Brand is giving away 1 of the 3 pairs of a laceless “Black Metallic” Air Jordan 5.
The silhouette maintains its classic constructions (sans the laces being removed) as the upper comes covered in all-black nubuck with clear TPU accents, 3M details, and silver hits accenting throughout. Clear TPU lands on the tongue and quarter panel with the eyestays not getting punched out for obvious reasons as the model follows the same laceless build as the 2018 “Fresh Prince” release. Other than that, your standard “Black Metallic” details, like the red Jumpman and silver shark teeth on the tongue and midsole respectively, remain with the design completed by a black midsole and icy blue semi-translucent rubber outsole.
The Air Jordan 5 Bel-Air “Black Metallic” PE is set to release via a giveaway on the NTWRK app on March 2nd, 2023.
