2022 has been an absolutely massive year for the sneaker industry. Not only did it mark the 25th and 40th birthdays of the Air Max 97 and the Air Force 1, we also celebrated the Cortez's 50th anniversary as well. Perhaps this is the reason why that the Air Jordan 7's 30th bash was somewhat sidelined. With that said, before 2022 comes to an end, Jordan Brand has taken the wraps off the Air Jordan 7 Retro "Barely Grape," and it's the ultimate way to kick off over three decades of an icon.
Bearing a striking resemblance to the upcoming "Chambray," this Air Jordan 7 boasts an all-black leather construction that's smooth and supple to the touch. Contrast barely grape stitching runs through the upper for added depth, and this soft lilac hue extends towards the "Air Jordan" branding on the tongue, as well as the Jumpman logo around the heel. Underfoot, the Nike Air midsole has been fully blacked out, and it's highlighted with rush fuchsia tones throughout for a look that's sure to turn heads. Of course, it wouldn't be an AJ 7 without the legendary shield emblem on the back.
The Air Jordan 7 Retro Barely Grape GS will release exclusively in kids sizes on January 24th, 2023. Expected to launch at Nike, the SNKRS app, and select Jordan Brand retailers both online and in-store, retail will be $150, $90, $75, for gradeschool, pre-school, and toddler pairs. Check out our Jordan release calendar, and keep it locked to our Twitter and official Mobile App. If you're looking for a more in-depth breakdown of the Air Jordan 7 and upcoming releases, check out our Air Jordan 7 Buyers Guide!
