Takedown models are a key part of Jordan Brand’s release strategy, even if sneakerheads may scoff at some of these designs. The general public will not necessarily care if a pair is not an actual OG release, as seen with the success of the Air Jordan 4 RM, a takedown version of the Jordan 4 that was released last year. Joining the list of takedowns for the mainline Air Jordan series is the Air Jordan MVP 92.
When reports and rumors first emerged about a takedown Air Jordan 7, Jordan Brand had given it the same RM title as the AJ 4, but the Air Jordan 7 RM name is no more. Instead, the model is called the Air Jordan MVP 92. If it sounds familiar, you’re not wrong, as the Jordan MVP launched in 2023, a fusion model that combines elements from the Air Jordan 6, 7, and 8.

Taking the Jordan 7 as the base for the sneaker, the MVP 92 borrows select design elements, like the paneling and perforations on the overlays. However, the sneaker has been converted into a low-top. As for this color scheme, Jordan Brand employs the classic Bred color scheme, coating most of the upper in black with red accents appearing on the Jumpman along the tongue and collar and on the Nike Air logo on the heel tab. Underfoot sits the Jordan 7 midsole in black and red.
The Air Jordan MVP 92 Bred will release in Fall 2025 through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $140.
