Designed by Oregon-alumni Tinker Hatfield, the tradition carries on as the Duck’s get a special edition Air Jordan 8 Retro from the design GOAT himself. These kicks come in a Ducks-themed white, grey, green and black. Featuring an array of various materials throughout the upper such as leather, perforations and ultra suede. Other details include: green terry cloth lining, “Black Duck” chenille patch logo on the tongue, metallic satin finish on the midsole and volt hits on the outsole.
The Air Jordan 8 Retro “Oregon Ducks” PE (player exclusive) edition was made for the University of Oregon football team and given to a select group of people who are friends of the program as well. Update 12/11/21: University of Oregon's football team officially unveiled the Jordan VIII Oregon Duck PE designed by the legendary Tinker Hatfield. To differentiate the Jordan 8 Oregon Duck PE from those of the past, Tinker added a Black "Fighting Duck" to the tongue of the sneaker to celebrate African American student-athletes. Update 12/12/21: StockX has announced that it will be holding a DropX for 100 pairs of the Jordan 8 Oregon Ducks PE on Monday, December 13th at 12pm EST. DropX's provide brands a unique opportunity to release products direct-to-consumer via an auction or traditional launch mechanic. Given the limited nature of these Jordans, StockX is expected to hold a "dutch auction" for the Jordan 8 Oregon Ducks PE. Unlike a traditional auction, dutch auctions allow users to bid what they are willing to pay for a particular product or asset. In this case, after the DropX window closes, the 100th highest bid will be considered the "clearing price," and all bidders that bid equal or more than the clearing price will pay the clearing price for the sneaker. All other bids that didn't meet the clearing price will not win the sneaker and not be charged. Stay tuned for additional updates regarding the Jordan 8 Oregon Duck PE DropX on StockX.
