Looking back at Michael Jordan's signature sneakers, the ones he rocked on the NBA floor are still the most popular. Many associate these original 14 Air Jordans with his two three-peats and his other iconic moments with the Chicago Bulls, with game-worn pairs from his NBA Playoff career regularly hitting auction. Following up on Goldin listing a pair of the OG Air Jordan 11 Low Playoff PE (the same version coming out next year to the public), the auction house has now put a game-worn pair of Air Jordan 8 Playoffs from the 1993 Eastern Conference Finals.
MJ and the Bulls secured their third consecutive NBA Finals appearance in this game, putting them one step closer to the first three-peat. Jordan played a pivotal role in securing the victory that fateful June night with his team-leading 25 points, nine assists, and three steals. Retaining true to OG Jordan 8, the sneaker comes with a black nubuck upper accented by red on the Jumpman logo, pull tab, and the outline of the white 23 on the strap. Other details remain, like the TPU panel featuring a black and red pattern, the custom sockliner graphic, and the black midsole and outsole.
As of this writing, bids for this game-worn Air Jordan 8 Playoff are at $39,000, with the auction set to end on September 28, 2024, at 10:00 PM.
