Jordan Brand has a longstanding tradition of reimagining its classic sneakers for the golf course. Among these, the Air Jordan 9 has recently been revived in several golf-specific iterations. Following notable releases like the Happy Life Wood collaboration and the Barons, White Black, and Cool Grey colorways, the Air Jordan 9 Golf will debut in a new US Open-inspired makeover.
The Air Jordan 9 Golf US Open features a sophisticated blend of white and grey tones, perfect for the fairway and the clubhouse. The upper boasts a combination of materials, with the top half covered in pristine white leather, while a grey suede mudguard extends towards the heel. This contrast in textures adds depth and elegance to the design. Accentuating the shoe are brown laces contrasting sharply against the university gold and red details found on the tongue, including the custom Jordan Wings tongue tag. These elements pay homage to the rich history and prestigious nature of the US Open.
Inside, the sneaker features an insole emblazoned with the I-74 logo, a nod to the highway near the golf course that hosts the US Open. This subtle detail adds a unique connection to the event. Additionally, the same I-74 logo is embroidered on the heel in a tonal grey, providing a cohesive and polished look. The design is completed with a grey and white midsole, paired with a spiked white rubber outsole, ensuring excellent traction and performance on the greens.
The Air Jordan 9 Golf US Open will release on June 14, 2024, through Nike and select Jordan Golf retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $230.
