While the Air Ship doesn't have the same fame as the Air Jordan 1, its importance cannot be overstated. To give the Air Ship its fair shake, Jordan Brand has revitalized the silhouette by bringing back original colorways and giving the sneaker numerous collaborations. An all-new Jordan Air Ship collaborative effort with Awake NY has surfaced courtesy of Brendan Dunne of Complex.
Opting for simplicity, the Awake NY x Jordan Air Ship sports a predominantly sail leather construction. Gym red accents on the shoe's collar come in a faux snakeskin while the Wings logo comes in a contrasting black shade. Awake NY branding replaces the "Air Jordan" text on the wings logo and along the heel of the left sneaker. Metallic Platinum Swooshes, Awake NY's signature "A" logo, and a metal Jumpman Hang Tag round out this special edition Air Ship.
The Awake NY x Jordan Air Ship PE SP University Red is set to release on March 9, 2024, through Awake NY, while a wider release via Nike, SNKRS, and select retailers will come on March 13.
