The Air Jordan Nu Retro 1 Low made its debut in 2002. A skate-like version of the classic 1985 silhouette, it was used to kick off a new series of Air Jordan retros that took OG models and gave them a modern-day look. This series only latest from the AJ 1 to the AJ 2, with no word on why it was not continued. The Air Jordan Nu Retro 2 was actually released because at the time, the molds were broken and the traditional AJ 2 was rumored to be lost (more on that, here). Thankfully, Jordan Brand solved the AJ 2 solution, but the Nu Retro 1 Low would still live on.
After an abundance of colorways for all genders releasing from 2002-2009, the Air Jordan Nu Retro 1 Low would quietly disappear. With 2022 commemorating the 20th Anniversary of this model, the Air Jordan Nu Retro 1 Low is set for a celebratory comeback. Kicking things off for this iteration of the AJ 1 Low is the "Chicago" edition. Remaining faithful to its original release, this pair comes in a classic varsity red, black, and white colorway. Sporting an all-leather upper, it is split between the three colors, complete with a debossed Air Jordan Wings logo on the sides. A split white and red midsole sits atop an all-red outsole with a strip of translucent icy blue near the ball of the foot.
The Air Jordan Nu Retro 1 Low Chicago is set to release in Holiday 2022. It will drop at Nike, via the SNKRS app, and at select Jordan Brand retailers worldwide, both in-store and online. Coming in men's sizing, retail is set at $110. Check out our Jordan release calendar, and keep it locked to our Twitter andMobile App to stay up to date on future releases.
