When the Air Jordan Nu Retro 1 Low was originally released in 2002, it was done so to give the classic Air Jordan 1 Low a modern-day makeover. The Nu Retro 1 Low came across more like a skate shoe than a basketball one, featuring a newly designed upper, more padding, and a grippier outsole. While fans at the time were mixed on how to feel, the sneaker did well on the retail market, convincing Jordan Brand to OD on the silhouette in 2007. After a hiatus, JB brought the Air Jordan Nu Retro 1 Low back in 2002 for its 20th Anniversary. The model is still going strong today, with an all-new Heritage-themed colorway on the books for Holiday.
Reminiscent of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Heritage, this Air Jordan Nu Retro 1 Low comes in a classic, Chicago Bulls-themed, varsity red, black, and white. The all-leather upper is split between the three primary colors: red wrapping around the toecap, white on the toe, tongue, and side panels, and black wrapping around the back heel. More red is found on the back heel overlay, with black accenting the lining and laces. A debossed Wings logo is prominently featured on the sides. Below is a white midsole, red solid rubber outsole, and a hit of icy blue translucent to complete the "Heritage" look.
The Air Jordan Nu Retro 1 Low Heritage is set to release on September 19, 2023. They will be available via Nike, SNKRS, and select NSW retailers. Coming in men's and gradeschool sizing, retail is set at $105 and $90, respectively.
