If you like your Jordan's simple and clean, then you can't go wrong with the Air Jordan Nu Retro 1 Low "Barons." Coming in a white, black, light smoke grey, and varsity red colorway, These J's bare a striking resemblance to the Double-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, the Birmingham Barons. For those that might not remember (or weren't even born yet), Michael Jordan pursued a short-lived career in professional baseball after his first retirement from the NBA in 1994. Thankful for everyone, MJ returned to the Chicago Bulls in 1995 and went on to win three more championships before a second retirement following the 1998 NBA Finals.
For those who rooted for MJ, on-and-off the court, Jordan Brand continues to honor the time by releasing Barons-themed colorways across multiple silhouettes. The latest to get this makeover is the Air Jordan Nu Retro 1 Low. Similar in design to the recently unveiled "Lightning" colorway, this pair also features a trio of colors on the upper. The difference between the two pairs is that this one features an all-leather upper, while the other pair comes in leather and nubuck. A split-colored midsole sits atop an all-grey outsole with a small strip of translucent icy blue near the toe.
The Air Jordan Nu Retro 1 Low Barons is set to release in Summer 2023. It will drop at Nike, via the SNKRS app, and at select Jordan Brand retailers worldwide, both in-store and online. Coming in men's and gradeschool sizing, retail is set at $105 and $90, respectively.
